How to Install EquityPulse PRO
Get ForexDevice EquityPulse PRO running on MetaTrader
Installing EquityPulse PRO is straightforward. Choose your MetaTrader platform below and follow the steps to install the EA, attach it to your XAUUSD chart and prepare it for testing.

Before You Start
Before installing EquityPulse PRO, make sure you have:
- A MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 trading account
- The correct EquityPulse PRO EA file
- Access to an XAUUSD / Gold trading symbol
- A stable internet connection
- Automated trading enabled in MetaTrader
Our recommendation
If you have a choice between platforms, MetaTrader 5 is our recommended platform for EquityPulse PRO.
MT5 Installation
Step 1 — Open MetaTrader 5
Launch MetaTrader 5 and log in to your trading account.
Make sure MetaTrader is connected to your broker’s trading server.
Step 2 — Open the Data Folder
From the MetaTrader 5 menu, select:
File → Open Data Folder
A folder will open on your computer.
Step 3 — Open the Experts Folder
Inside the Data Folder, open:
MQL5 → Experts
This is where the EquityPulse PRO Expert Advisor file needs to be placed.
Step 4 — Copy the EA File
Copy the EquityPulse PRO MT5 file you received into the Experts folder.
Make sure the file is placed directly inside the Experts folder.
Step 5 — Restart MetaTrader 5
Close and reopen MetaTrader 5.
Alternatively, you can refresh the Navigator window.
Go to:
Navigator → Expert Advisors
You should now see:
ForexDevice EquityPulse PRO
Step 6 — Open Your XAUUSD Chart
Open an XAUUSD / Gold chart provided by your broker.
Your broker may use a different symbol name, such as:
- XAUUSD
- XAUUSDm
- XAUUSD.a
- GOLD
The exact name depends on your broker.
Step 7 — Attach the EA
In the Navigator:
Expert Advisors → ForexDevice EquityPulse PRO
Drag the EA onto your XAUUSD chart.
The EA settings window should appear.
Step 8 — Enable Algo Trading
Make sure Algo Trading is enabled in MetaTrader 5.
Also check the EA permissions and make sure automated trading is allowed.
Without the required permissions, the EA will not be able to execute its trading functions.
Step 9 — Review the Settings
Before starting, review the EA’s input parameters.
The current default configuration is:

These are the default settings and are not intended to be a universal risk recommendation.
Step 10 — Start With a Demo Account
Before considering live trading, we strongly recommend testing EquityPulse PRO on a demo account.
This allows you to become familiar with:
- EA behaviour
- Trading frequency
- Settings
- Broker conditions
- Potential drawdowns
- Order execution
Take time to understand the system before exposing real capital to market risk.
MT4 Installation
Step 1 — Open MetaTrader 4
Launch MetaTrader 4 and log in to your trading account.
Make sure MetaTrader is connected to your broker.
Step 2 — Open the Data Folder
From the MetaTrader 4 menu, select:
File → Open Data Folder
A folder will open.
Step 3 — Open the Experts Folder
Inside the Data Folder, open:
MQL4 → Experts
This is where the EquityPulse PRO MT4 Expert Advisor file needs to be placed.
Step 4 — Copy the EA File
Copy the EquityPulse PRO MT4 file you received into the Experts folder.
Make sure you are using the MT4 version of the EA.
Step 5 — Restart MetaTrader 4
Close and reopen MetaTrader 4.
You can also refresh the Navigator window.
Go to:
Navigator → Expert Advisors
You should now see:
ForexDevice EquityPulse PRO
Step 6 — Open Your XAUUSD Chart
Open your broker’s XAUUSD / Gold chart.
The exact symbol name can vary between brokers.
For example:
XAUUSD · XAUUSDm · XAUUSD.a · GOLD
Always use the Gold symbol supplied by your broker.
Step 7 — Attach the EA
From the Navigator:
Expert Advisors → ForexDevice EquityPulse PRO
Drag the EA onto your XAUUSD chart.
The EA settings window will appear.
Step 8 — Enable AutoTrading
Make sure AutoTrading is enabled in MetaTrader 4.
Also check the EA permissions and make sure automated trading is allowed.
Step 9 — Review the Settings
Review the EA parameters before starting.
The default configuration includes:

These settings can be adjusted for testing.
Always understand the effect of a setting before changing it.
Step 10 — Start With a Demo Account
We recommend running the EA on a demo account first.
Use this period to understand how EquityPulse PRO behaves with your broker and to test the settings you intend to use.
Important: XAUUSD Symbol Names
Different brokers may display Gold under different names.
For example:
XAUUSD
XAUUSDm
XAUUSD.a
GOLD
This does not necessarily indicate a problem.
Simply use the XAUUSD/Gold symbol available in your broker’s Market Watch.
Broker specifications such as spread, commission, contract size, minimum lot size and execution conditions can also differ.
Recommended First-Time Setup
If you’re installing EquityPulse PRO for the first time, we recommend keeping the process simple.
1. Install
Install the correct MT5 or MT4 version.
2. Open XAUUSD
Use your broker’s Gold symbol.
3. Start with the default settings
Avoid changing multiple parameters immediately.
4. Backtest
Use the MetaTrader Strategy Tester with historical XAUUSD data.
5. Test on demo
Run the EA under your broker’s actual conditions.
6. Evaluate
Look beyond the profit figure.
Pay attention to:
Drawdown · Equity Curve · Profit Factor · Trade Frequency · Losing Periods
7. Consider live deployment only after testing
If you eventually decide to trade live, use a position size and risk level appropriate for your account.
Troubleshooting
The EA doesn’t appear in Navigator
Try the following:
Navigator → Right Click → Refresh
If the EA still doesn’t appear:
- Check that the file is in the correct Experts folder.
- Confirm you installed the correct MT4 or MT5 version.
- Restart MetaTrader.
The EA appears but doesn’t trade
Check:
- Algo Trading / AutoTrading is enabled
- EA trading permissions are enabled
- You are using the correct XAUUSD symbol
- The market is open
- Your broker permits automated trading
- Your account has sufficient available margin
- There are no broker restrictions preventing the order
Also check the Experts and Journal tabs for messages.
The EA is running but there are no trades
This does not necessarily indicate a problem.
EquityPulse PRO does not continuously open trades.
The EA waits for its programmed trading conditions and breakout setup.
If those conditions have not occurred, the EA may remain inactive.
Can I change the default settings?
Yes.
EquityPulse PRO provides configurable parameters for testing different trading configurations.
However, changing settings can significantly change the strategy’s behaviour and risk characteristics.
Always backtest and demo-test significant changes before considering live use.
